Parts Included: (1) QuickPost, (2) Mounting plates, (12) Screws (for wood or masonry applications)
Tools Required for Installation: Tape measure, miter saw (with carbide multi-purpose blade), drill with appropriate bits, and level. Use proper personal protective equipment when installing QuickPost.

Measure opening to determine post length. Deduct 3/8" total to accommodate top and bottom mounting plates.
Note:
- For use with 42" QuickRail railing, do not trim the bottom of post, trim only the top.
- For use with 36" QuickRail railing, do not trim more than 6" from the bottom of post, trim balance from top.
Trim post. A miter saw with a carbide multi-purpose blade is recommended (be sure to use personal protective wear).
Be sure to match cut with same pitch as slope of base.
Install top plate using 4 stainless steel screws (provided).
Install bottom plate. For wood applications use 4 stainless steel screws (provided). For masonry applications, use the 4 TapconŽ masonry screws (also provided).
After installation of plates, raise ceiling or roof approximately 1/2". Set post on bottom plate. Position top
of post with top plate. Lower roof and plate on top of post. (No need to screw post to plates.)

Installing a Rail System to QuickPost
|
|
When installing Dixie-Pacific QuickRail to QuickPost, predrill pilot holes for the QuickRail screws using a 5/32" drill bit. For installing any other rail system, consult rail product instructions for screw sizes to determine correct drill bit needed.

Installation Instructions
Slide trim pieces on post before inserting top and bottom aluminum plates on post.
Attach aluminum plates to post pre-drilling holes with 1/8" drill bit on two sides of the post at bottom and top. Make
sure to drill 5/8" from ends of post. (See diagram) Using (4) #10 x 1 1/2" screws provided, insert into pre-drilled holes.
Install post.
Screw aluminum plates to floor and roof. Insert (4) screws into top and bottom plate. (These screws are included in the QuickPost box.)
Slide the trim pieces around the top and bottom of post. The trim pieces will fit snug against post. No screws or
glue needed.
